| The Birmingham and District Invitation Cross Country League was formed back in 1925 when a few Birmingham based athletics worthies resolved to form a local cross country league with Birmingham based Clubs. From its small beginnings with just 6 Clubs, it has now grown considerably to expand into 3 divisions with over 50 Clubs all from the Birmingham area, the central Midlands and beyond. | ![]() |
The League actively encourages and promotes the sport of cross country running and enjoys the excellent reputation of being one of the most competitive and high quality cross country leagues in the Country. |

The highlight of the League's year is its first fixture usually around the end of October/beginning of November every year where not only do the three divisions of the League come together and compete but the Midland Womens Cross Country league also stages its first race - a fine spectacle of cross country running.. | ![]() |
